Nah, he ain't loaded. Typical kiwi-style, it's pretty home-brewed, a wire running from the antenna on top of his garage (shed, as they're called down here) to a little beige box that receives the "faxes" from the satellites, which in turn is hooked up to a PC that runs software for capturing them to bmp's.

What'd be *truly* badass is being able to pick those broadcasts up with a laptop... When backpacking. :O

His own rig? Dude's gotta be loaded! The ones we have is actually an anarchistic declaration, as the Danish Institute of Meteorolgy sell them to us, and then we publish them on the web for free. They don't find that the least bit funny.

Thanks Jonas, it's a sweet site. I had no idea this stuff existed until eariler this afternoon. The dude I was hanging out with has his own rig for picking up these satellite broadcasts! Not the high-res, as they're too much $$$, but the lower res fax-like image broadcasts. Wicked.

And here is where to view the ones covering Denmark, thanks to me (-; all hi-res if you click the thumbnails. I know it is not of much interest to you or any of your visitors what the weather is like in Denmark, just thought I'd share it.
