Well, it didn't take long for my first minor surfing injury to manifest. We were paddling around during a medium-sized swell at the Princeton Jetty (Half Moon Bay) and a bigun caught me... I flipped right over the top of the wave and down into the white swirl below, along with the board. Underwater, I felt something painfully smash into my left calf, and true to surfer style, I didn't bother checking it out until we got out a half hour later. My board (affectionately known as "The Battleship") was missing a fin, my calf was swollen, and I've had a slight limp ever since. Bitchin'!
